combat system!
As a Star Wars setting, the Power System of Imperium is semi-realistic, as not everyone in the galaxy is capable of superhuman feats. There is no official ranking system that the strength of every character is defined by, with the exception of Force Sensitives, who have the additional Force Ranks, instead the combat capability of every character is determined by their masteries. Each mastery determines a character’s level of expertise in a specific area of combat, defining what makes them unique through six levels of mastery. That being said, remember that one member may only have three Force Sensitive characters at any given time.

There are seven masteries: Agility, Perception, Melee Weapon Expertise, Ranged Weapon Expertise, Unarmed Expertise, Force Control (For Force Users) or Willpower (For Non-Force Users).

AGILITY. This mastery judges how acrobatic and agile a character is, as well as their endurance.

PERCEPTION. This mastery determines a character’s combat awareness as well as their insight; to see how an opponent functions, to decode strategies and tactics. For Force Sensitives, this mastery also determines the effectiveness of a character’s Battle Precognition and their ability to sift through deception.

MELEE EXPERTISE. This mastery judges how well a character utilizes melee weaponry; from vibroswords to lightsabers.

RANGED EXPERTISE. This mastery shows a character’s aptitude with ranged weaponry, as well as certain technology.

UNARMED EXPERTISE. This mastery determines a character’s coordination in unarmed combat.

FORCE CONTROL. This mastery is given only to Force Sensitive characters. This determines how skilled a Force User is at manipulating the Force and their knowledge of it. This is not to be confused with the Force Rank of a character.

WILLPOWER. This mastery is only given to non-Force Sensitive characters and acts as their redeeming champion stat. This determines the mental strength and resolve of a character, dictating their ability to resist mental and otherwise inhibiting Force attacks and other inhibiting forces.

When making a character, your masteries are allocated from your starting points. Characters aged 29 and lower have 12 starting allocation points and characters aged 30 and higher have 13 starting allocation points. Major canon slots such as Councilors, as well as the following minor slots: Jedi Master, Supreme Commander, Commander of Havoc Squad, Spectre Agent, Darth, Grand Moff, Grand Admiral, Cipher Agents, Exchange Compeer, Supreme Mogul, Black Sun Don and Mandolore start with an extra point.

The six levels of mastery to choose from and progress through are: Amateur, Novice, Practitioner, Adept, Master, and Absurd. All masteries start at a baseline of Amateur and to go up one mastery costs one of your starting allocation points. Absurd costs three of your starting allocation points and two masteries may never be absurd. You do not have to use all of your starting allocation points and certain characters, such as young padawans, may not need to use all of their points. Starting points do not rollover, and unlike your inventory or feats, cannot be re-allocated once your masteries are accepted.

AMATEUR. At this level, a character has absolutely no talent in the particular mastery, and it is considered a pure drawback.

NOVICE. At this level, a character is beginning to grasp the basics of an art, just well enough to use them within combat.

PRACTITIONER. At this level, a character has mastered the basics to use them in combat in a practical manner, though in no way are they a master of the art. Entering this stage, a character is allowed to create techniques based on this mastery.

ADEPT. At this level, a character is well-versed in the particular mastery, and is considered one of the experts in the field. They know how to properly respond to most combat situations with the particular skill, and performing and impressive feat is not out of their bounds. Typically, an adept may possess a lot of techniques tailored to the specific mastery.

MASTER. At this level, a character has completely mastered their skill and is the final stage that the most experienced of users will ever reach. Not only do they have the art of the mastery down to a science or visceral act, but they know how to perfectly engage and counter virtually any situation they’re in.

ABSURD. The level of absurd is nearly impossible to attain, and very rarely seen, with a payoff that’s extreme. To take a mastery to an absurd level means to take a skill beyond perfection, to take their talent out of the realm of logic; to be matched by no one, to outplay the masters of an art. An absurd mastery will always be the unmistakable trademark of a character, and because this requires such dedication to one art, other masteries will always be penalized. A canon example of taking a mastery to an absurd level would be Darth Sidious and his supreme knowledge over the Force. No character under the age of 27 will have an Absurd Mastery and two masteries cannot be Absurd.

The Force is a metaphysical, spiritual, binding, omnipotent and ubiquitous power that holds enormous importance for both the Jedi and Sith monastic orders. Though the Force is thought to flow through every living thing, its power can only be harnessed by being described as “Force Sensitives.” On Imperium, the Force functions as an additional ranking available only to Force Sensitive characters. The Force is built into eight power ranks, six of which are attainable by custom characters, with rare exceptions. The highest any non-canon character can start with is: Force Rank Four.

With each Force Rank, certain Force Powers are unlocked; these do not need to be added to the mastery page. The character examples of each given rank scale from the higher-end of the spectrum to the lower.

FORCE RANK ONE. This is the basic level for any being highly attuned to the flow of the Force. At this stage, a Force Sensitive can, with training, learn to sense and manipulate the Force. By natural standards, they are weak in the Force and only their potential is considered a threat, and barely so.

Given Examples: Untrained Force Sensitives, Jedi Initiates.
Unlocked For All: Force Telekinesis, Force Push/Pull.

FORCE RANK TWO. This is the average level of any Force Sensitive in the midst of their training. The power of the Force is still considered fresh, with their potency just beginning to develop. Their strength is still considered weak by the elites, but to the natural man they can be a threat.

Given Examples: Jedi Padawans, Sith Acolytes.
Unlocked For All:Force Leap, Battle Precognition.
Unlocked For Trained Sensitives: Force Sense

FORCE RANK THREE. Considered the stepping stone into the competence, this is the level of most Force Sensitives after the completion of their training. The power of the Force is strong within them and they’re acknowledged for their strength. The average soldier and a small group of their allies are oftentimes of no consequence to those of this level.

Given Examples: Jedi Knights, Fresh Sith Lords—Teen Ahsoka Tano.
Unlocked For All: Force Choke (Dark Side).
Unlocked For Trained Sensitives: Force Speed, Mind Trick.

FORCE RANK FOUR. Breaching into the power of the true elites, the average Force Sensitive doesn’t reach this stage until they have decades of age on their shoulders. The Force is especially strong within one at this point, and they’re considered incredibly dangerous to the point of being able to turn the tide of a battlefield. This is the highest starting rank for a non-canon custom character.

Given Examples: Formidable Sith Lords and Jedi Masters—Darth Maul, Kanan Jarrus, Asajj Ventress.
Unlocked For All: Force Lightning (Dark Side).
Unlocked For Trained Sensitives: Heightened Telekinesis.

FORCE RANK FIVE. Respected by each of your allies and feared by all of your enemies, this is the stage in which most can begin to see the peak of power. Those of this level are considered a conduit of the living Force, with very few claiming to boast this level of power. This is the pedestal that members of the all-knowing Jedi Council and the members of the all-powering Dark Council perch upon.

Given Examples: Darth Malak, Count Dooku, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Atris.
Unlocked For Trained Sensitives: Heightened Battle Precognition, Heightened Force Sense.

FORCE RANK SIX. The Force rarely flows through any individual in the galaxy with such a magnitude, a level often seen as illogical to those without a vast knowledge of the omnipotent energy. Incredibly powerful enough to be considered one of the greatest of any era; one at this stage could be considered a one-man army of the Force. This is the highest attainable level of Force strength for a non-canon custom character.

Given Examples: Arcann, Darth Jadus, Darth Malgus, Darth Vader, Satele Shan, Mace Windu.
Unlocked For Light Sensitives: Force Ghost.

FORCE RANK SEVEN. Almost seen as the living Force itself, this amount of power only comes a few times in millennia. This is a legendary amount of power that simply steps beyond logic, humbling even the mightiest of the mighty. Walking with this amount of power is a testament to the living will of the Force itself.

Given Examples: Vaylin, Revan Reborn, Kar Vastor, Yoda.

FORCE RANK EIGHT. Unfathomable power—unlimited power.
Given Examples: The Father, Grandmaster Luke Skywalker, Emperor Palpatine, Emperor Vitiate & Valkorian, Darth Nihilus.
