Manaan.

A planet that had remained neutral in this conflict, aiding both the Republic, and the Empire, with medical attention. For far too long they had refused any attempt the Empire made to bring them under their banner. It was 'not within their nature' they claimed. That was no longer an acceptable response. It was decided that if the Selkath would not join them by choice, then they would do so by force. If the Empire conquered Manaan, it would be a turning point in the war, and the Republic would be forced to spend more resources on medical attention, and thus hurting all war efforts. So the Selkath would be enslaved. Or slaughtered. It mattered not.

Kiukurilya, member of the Dark Council, Sphere of Military Offense, stood at the star port within the Great Citadel, her two apprentices at her sides, and a battalion of Troopers standing at attention. The transport ships were being prepared, checked, and outfitted to her specifications. Rations, gear, and other vital equipment stored away, hidden from any inspections that might occur. Garbed in black leather, and a matching cloak with its hood concealing most of her face in shadow, she waited patiently. Once she was given the okay, Kiukurilya ordered the troops on to their ships, while she and her two apprentices, and two elite troopers, boarded their own personal ship.

It was a long trip, one where no words were exchanged. They were given their orders in the debriefing. They were not to attack until she signaled them to, and while casualties were okay, she wanted hostages. Prisoners. The highest of skilled medics were to be spared, and the medical facilities were to be kept mostly in tact. Everything else was free game.

The ships, six in total, hers and five transport ships, soared over the oceanic planet. The roar of their engines seemed to echo off the water, resonating, like war drums. They made no effort to conceal their ships, the Empire insignia in plain view and freshly painted. The ship Captain requested permission to dock in Ahto city, showing no signs of initial hostility. Her orders.

They were granted permission, and her ship was the first to land, with the other five landing all within close quarters of one another. Slowly the hatch descended, allowing Kiukurilya, Korshaa, Zendria, and the two elite troopers to exit. One of the Selkath ambassadors quickly scurried over the ship, bowing and greeting the Sith. Master! I am sorry we did not properly greet you! We were unaware that you would be coming, and with so many... He trailed off. Kiukuriyla only smiled, and removed the hood from her face. My apologies. The snap of a lightsaber echoed through the air as she cut the ambassador down. Begin the assault. The troopers immediately took to action, some taking out large blasters, chain gun variants, canons, mobile turrets, grenades.

It was mass chaos. They attacked swiftly and without mercy. Those not vital to their needs were struck down, homes were lit and burned, and bodies littered the street as they made their way towards the medical facilities. It was there that they would find what they sought.

Finally, the one thing Korshaa craved beyond anything else in the universe: war. She could finally let loose, kill someone, fight someone, torture someone and much, much more! She could do whatever she wanted on this day, and she absolutely relished in the thought. Finally, she could claim her glory. The day started with her standing on the left of her master, looking down at the pitiful planet they would enslave. To think that, for so long, they refused to give their allegiance to the Empire, claiming that it wasn't their way. Pathetic. When a Tagruta didn't pick a side in their wars, they would always be the first targeted. If you were not their friends, then you were their enemies, and they would force you to be their friends. All it took was power, intimidation and a little bit of murder.Like her master, Korshaa wore a black cloak that covered her entire body, even her head. Underneath were her warclothes, the brown garbs which she wore on her planet. Some called it skimpy for showing so much skin and leaving nothing to the imagination, but Korshaa didn't care. These clothing were freeing, and allowed her to do whatever she wanted. If people laughed at her or commented on her about her outfit, that would be their final laugh they ever made. When it was time to begin, Korshaa loaded onto the ship with her master, fellow apprentice and two elite troopers. She remained quiet while they rode down to Manaan. She didn't want to talk, she just wanted to think about all the fish that would die by her hands. She was also starving. The terrible rations the imperials gave her were not good enough to feed a Togruta's stomach. She needed real food, and she would damn well get it during this battle. What could she possibly eat during battle, though? Maybe the fearful Selkath children who cried for their parents, or the regular Selkath adults who had no use to the empire. Would she eat them dead after she stabbed her lightsaber through their skulls? Or would she eat them alive and enjoy the sounds of their anguish as their blood become her fuel? She couldn't decide which. When they finally landed on Manaan, Korshaa walked behind her master as she "greeted" one of the Selkath locals. Her hood was up, so the creature couldn't see the devilish smile on her face. When her master finally did it and sliced the foolish Selkath into two, that smile on grew even wider. This was what he and everyone else deserved for not joining the Empire. If the Selkath had anything to blame for their suffering today, it would be their "nature."When her master ordered the attack to begin, Korshaa ripped off her cloak, revealing her Togrutan battleborn uniform. She whipped out her lightsaber tonfas and made them whir to life. There were a few Selkath that saw the previous one die and were trying to escape, but there was absolutely nowhere else for them to run.Korshaa jumped forward, making one huge leap in the air that covered at least 50 yards of distance. Her hardened body landed on one Selkath, splattering him underneath her feet and taking away his breath. There was another female that ran with the male. Maybe they were colleagues of a sort? Korshaa swiped her lightsaber through the female's feet, severing her legs from her body. The process was quick and absolutely painful. She allowed the Selkath to live a little more if only to hear her screams of mercy, terror and pain, then she stabbed the lightsaber through the Selkath's lungs, just so that she could live and suffer a little bit more before she died. The troopers passed by Korshaa, their weapons at the ready. They ran throughout all the city, ransacking homes, killing Selkath's who did not comply and taking others as prisoners. Korshaa moved among them, her yellow lightsabers dancing under the blood red sun.

A hunt, at long last... or perhaps, this would be better categorized as a fishing trip, hrm? A small chuckle very nearly escaped her at the thought, and it brought a small smile to Zendria's shrouded face. Standing there, beside her master and fellow apprentice, looking out over the troops that they would be leading into battle... and victory, this day, that smile grew even wider. Blood would be spilled. Flesh rent and torn. The poor fools below would be hunted through their streets like beasts, and it would be the Sith who were the huntsmen.

But, before the hunt could begin in earnest, the actual battle would have to be fought. A much more straightforward affair than the hunt for survivors that would follow, but no less amusing. Trapping the enemy with superior tactics and force of arms was almost as...exhilarating... as capturing them in a snare or well plashed ambush. Tearing apart an army, almost as beautifully elegant a process as the butchering of prey. It would be quite the interesting experience, this all out war. And, it was to begin, if shrill signal echoing through the bay were any indication. Zendria's blood began to beat faster, as the thrill of the hunt began to flow in her veins... It was all she could do to keep still on the long, quiet, ride down to the planet's surface.

Finally, they landed, and the doors opened, revealing a group of sniveling delegates upon the tarmac. ahead of them. Kiu walked out first, flanked by her apprentices and elite troopers to be greeted... and gave a rather poignant greeting of her own to the dignitary. In a spit second, all was chaos. The troopers piled out of their own shuttles, weapons spitting fire and death, the Darth strode forward, her blades a whirlwind around her as she cut down any who tried to fight her, Korshaa dropped her cloak, revealing the rather flattering battle outfit beneath, and launched herself at the nearest foes she could find. They were clearly noncombatants, but in a battle like this, that didn't particularly matter. Zen herself, just chuckled at her fellow apprentices enthusiasm.

She would need to match that enthusiasm, ow wouldn't she? With a flick of her wrist her cloak fell away, revealing the sensible clothes beneath. They were the simple garb of a hunter, covering but not restricting, and dyed pitch black to match Zendria's Sith allegiance and blend into the deepest of shadows. As she stepped forward she tapped the butt of her saber pike to the ground, and the orange blade hummed to life. But that was not the true danger. Around her lifted spikes of silvered metal, invisible hands pulling them out of the containers about her waist and swirling them about her in a metallic maelstrom.

As she dashed forwards to join in the fray, deflecting the occasional blaster bolt with her staff blade, any foe, or innocent, who she drew near, or who drew too near to her, was ripped and torn by the flying shards of metal. Those so injured, soon screamed in pain, and fell to the ground, convulsing. Zendria merely smiled, as she reaped her terrible toll on the Selkath population.

Officially, Masemi Luxi was suppose to be working an intelligence operation in Nar Shaddaa, but when she had caught wind of what was to become of Manaan, she couldn't help but be intrigued. The allure of witnessing history in the making with her own two azure blue iris' was much too strong to pass up. While she adored the work she did, sometimes action was something she yearned for the most. It wasn't easy always wearing a mask and pretending to be someone she wasn't. In the battle to come, she would prove to the Empire just how valuable an asset she was.

Cipher One had taken to one of the other five ships, her presence here likely unknown to the ones leading this excursion into Manaan. Which was honestly how she liked it, after all privacy was important for her in the line of work she was in. She would spend her traveling time, pulling mental records on the oceanic planet to the forefront of her mind. It's important infrastructure and any potential security hazards that might pose a problem and what could be done about it when the time arose. Knowledge of the a city invaded was just as powerful as any armed force, even more so to one would knew how to put it to good use.

When the time came and the ship she traveled on lurched lower, descending in altitude, her gauntleted hands would lift toward her chest, index and thumb pulling free the thin material that made up her Holocron mask, from her bosom. Pulling it up over and over her head, the material would contract with a slight snap, before she bunched her raven colored hair up in the backside. The mask would flicker to life, set to scramble as face that showed rapidly changed, from male to female and race to race, morphing at a rapid rate. Her true identity need not be known to those that would bare witness to 'Obscurity' in action.

There was something about war that brought gave her goosebumps, not out of fear, only excitement. While she wasn't sadistic in nature, there was beauty in the chaos. Natural selection at it's finest, because only the strong made it out alive. The best part about it was that rules truely didn't apply in these situations, war was an uncontrollable animal and any tactic that gave you the upper-hand was the winning choice, regardless of how honorable it may be. The closer they neared, the quicker her heart began to beat in raw anticipation. Eventually, she felt the ship touch down and the time to make history in favor of the Empire grew near.

When the doors opened, the Zabrak woman was quick to act. Left hand casually reaching toward the tactical belt she wore, Masemi would activate 'Dark Chameleon'. A slightly audible 'warbling' effect would initiate the stealth field as her form faded and meshed with the surroundings inside of the ship. A distorted effect would arisd as she gracefully walked down the ramp and set foot upon Manaan. She would idle once she hit the ground, her form disappearing as she slipped off toward the aide of the ship as the soldiers began to pour out.

When the first light-saber sparked to life, wielded by Kiukurilya of the dark council herself, Masemi took that as her cue to move, for Cipher One knew what to expect. Absolute and utter chaos would erupt and it would provide the Zabrak spy ample distraction to move largely unnoticed through the madness that would ensue. Unlike many others, she did not attack. She would move in short controlled bursts, the visual distortion lasting fractions of a second before she stopped again. Carefully, she would begin to make her way through, for it was the heart of Manaan that was the goal, the Medical facility to be exact. Masemi Luxi would do her best to ensure victory for the Empire, here on this historical day. Manaan would fall.

There was something to be said of neutrality when the galaxy was in turmoil - some considered it honorable, many considered it foolish or greedy. Varus, he admired it, particularly with how his own mind had developed in recent weeks. Manaan was a valuable ally to all in the galaxy in its neutrality, and forcing its people to pick one side over the other would severely negatively impact too many people lives. Even if it was ultimately against republic interests to see Manaan pick a side, Varus would never let that happen - especially if that side was the Republic.

With what contacts he had remaining in the Empire, Varus was able to assemble a team and head toward the planet before it fell into complete chaos. In his own defender-class light corvette he would bring with him his padawan, Aria, his friend Johma, and his colleague Master Darkheart. Along with them would be five more ships, each filled with gifts from Senator Miranna Vanis - perhaps this would be enough to even the playing field, if not turn the tide of battle in their favor.

"The threat is not to be understated here," Varus started to his allies as he donned his robes and sabers. "I don't know who's leading this assault but all of the members of the Dark Council are formidable in their own right. Play to our strengths, fight as a unit; I know we have little training together, but if it comes to the worst and Senator Vanis' gift does not do enough for us, we're the last line of defense." Varus would then inform the crew they had a short amount of time to ready up before they entered Manaan's airspace, and the battle was underway. He gave them all reassurances that they would be able to handle it, but the most of his attention was centered on Aria. "Stay by my side. I will protect you, but you are also my strength - together, they cannot stop us," he'd whisper in her ear before heading off to the ramp.

Once they reached Manaan, the light corvette would search the area for the Sith presence and the weather of the planet was severely altered. Harsh, powerful winds swept soldiers off their feet and put out the fires in areas where they were congregated, and tremor after tremor hit to hinder their attack - or, what should soon turn into their retreat.

The additional ships that accompanied Varus and the Jedi would pass directly over the battlefield, their ramps opening as if to unload paratroopers from above. However, what followed was much worse for the Imperial soldiers, as a rain of rakghoul terror as unleashed upon them. From each of the five ships, a horde would fall through the sky, each individual rakghoul having the strength to rip through several soldiers with ease. Even better for the republic was that the soldiers who didn't die, would be turned to even more rakghouls. The imperial soldiers would soon be outnumbered, no matter how many they killed.

Once the defender-class light corvette was able to locate the Sith in charge of the raid, it would land nearby and allow the crew to reach the battlefield. The ramp opened while it was still midair, and Varus flew out like a torpedo through the wind, his sabers dancing around him in wild, yet controlled frenzy as they cut down whatever soldiers drew near. Once he finally landed on his feet, it would be before the dark councilor and her own crew. Storm clouds gathered overhead, and light rain would begin to fall.

"Kiukurilya, your audacity is more than I've been told!" he spoke with demeaning chuckle that followed. "You've sabotaged any chance of Manaan aiding the Empire in the future, but if you play nice, I'll let you leave with your lives."

love, libby

The planet of Manaan was one of the few that had yet to choose a side in the war and instead offered medical aid to both sides. Aria was impressed by their dedication to maintaining their neutrality and wasn’t too surprised that the Empire would use force to gain their planet as a valuable foothold in the war. It was never enough for the Empire and their greed would be their downfall this time. Aria had her Padawan robes donned, her utility belt with all her usual gear, and her two lightsabers at the ready. She had chosen to leave her outer robe as it would only get in the way of what was to be intense combat.

Aria stood beside Master Darkheart as he had been training her back at the Jedi Temple in combat. While the two of them weren’t nearly as attuned in combat as herself and Master Varus they still knew each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Johma was a new friend of theirs and had yet to battle along side one another. Aria did not doubt his own strength but figured fighting near him without any experience could cause more problems than it was worth. She took a few deep breaths to calm her mind and attune her senses to the Force. She also focused on her mental barriers as she would be going into a battle where emotions can and will assault her at all times.

Once Master Varus’s speech was done she opened her eyes and had a determined look set in them. She gave a curt nod in response to her Master and was easily able to control any other emotions his mere close contact would usually bring out of her. They were heading into battle and there was no time for distractions when facing against Sith. Instead she would use those feelings to strengthen her own resolve. The plan to use rakghouls against the Imperial troops was a good one, but she didn’t like how brutal it was. The rakghouls could easily turn on the locals if not properly contained and spread through their populace. All it would take is one rakghoul unaccounted for to make the worry a reality.

As soon as the landing ramp opened Aria followed after Master Varus as he flew off the ramp with her on his heels. She ignited her two sabers mid-air and primarily focused on deflecting any blaster shots aimed for herself and her Master as he focused on cutting a path for the two of them through the imperial troops. Of course she occasionally would slash down an imperial trooper that her Master left behind or that had come from one of his blind sides. The two landed right in front of a dark councilor and her crew. The troopers had some heavy blasters and even some gatling blasters causing her to take a ready stance to use her Blade Dance in case they opened fire on the two of them. Blade Dance would be able to deflect most of the blaster fire from the rapid fire blasters and give her Master time to either strike them down or seek cover as she covered his retreat. While Master Varus spoke directly to Kiukurilya, Aria simply focused on keeping an eye on their surroundings in case someone tried to attack them suddenly.

Aria did take notice of two powerful Force signatures that both seemed to be coming from other points of major conflict near by. She was told to stay by Master Varus’s side but if the people needed help then it was her duty to aid them however she could. She looked over at Master Varus to quickly ask permission. “Master, I sense the Selkath need more aid. I can go help them!” She said quickly while making sure that no one tried to take advantage of them thinking their guards were down. The question to go to their aid was evident and she waited to hear what her Master would say.

Drago paced around the shuttle like a rabid dog, impatience and his rage simmering in his core. His Saber-Claws encased around his large arms from elbow, to finger tip, turning into ten sharp claws at the end of each finger. Word came to the Order of the Sith's surprise attack on Manaan, and they were powerless to fully prevent the killing of innocents. To Drago, this planet was nothing more than a bloodbath waiting to happen...and sure enough, he was right. These people of Manaan should have had a plan for such an event. They should have been able to hold their own until support arrived for them, but from what Drago was hearing, these Paper Skins were almost not worth helping. If it were not for the vast number of innocent souls slaughtered, Drago would have allowed another member of the Order to come here. Yet all of the Wulfen's disdain was held to the Sith. He knew their kind were not subject to things such as honour, but their soldiers were aided by Manaan. Attacking this planet was not something a true warrior would do. This was cowardice.

Varus' words did not stir Drago from his brewing thoughts. He did not speak of the plan to use these monsters, but the thought of hunting them came to his mind. In time...All in good time. The Second-Soul, Drago's Inner Wolf stirred the moment the besieged planet came into view. The closer the ruin and carnage came, a low growl escaped the Wulfen's throat. There was not much time to prepare himself for this battle, aesthically at least. His ankle-length, black strands of hair were woven into one long, single braid that brushed along the cloak of black furs worn as the Jedi paced. Varus' words may have been his and Aria's to know, but the Wulfen's keen ears picked up on them. There was no time to comment, and this was not the moment for him to speculate or even care.

'Is it time?'

'No.'

Drago moved to the platform with Varus, his crimson hues casting themselves at the ground. Fists curled and uncurled into fists until the charnel stink of warfare bombarded his nostrils. The Wulfen Jedi launched himself from the shuttle, although he was not quite the spectacle as Varus was. The cloak billowed until his feet met the ground, his form crouched and with one arm pressed against the earth of Manaan, his claws digging into the soil. Varus spoke to the Dark Councilor, but they were not known to Drago's ears. The Wulfen rose to full height, taking a defensive posture. The motion was barely noticeable, but the gauntlets worn by the Jedi came to life. The clawed fingers elongated several inches, wreathed in the energies of his most powerful weapon.

"Enough of this useless drabble! Now is not the time for words...only actions."

From appearance in his massive stature alone, Drago looked far too ready to plunge himself into combat with the Dark Councilor.

Johma could feel a degree of sympathy for the people of Manaan. He had also been spending most of his time bouncing between Republic and Imperial jobs, though the Imperial jobs had been far less frequent as of late. Now war had come to this tranquil world because they had not made a choice of which side to ally with. Today a choice was going to be thrust upon them. The Empire had moved in, and they were planing to take over everything. This was one of the time Johma had decided to help the Republic free of charge. While he had his problems with it the Republic wasn't comprised of people who would kill him and try to tear down everything he wanted to accomplish out of spite. The Empire had no such trouble.

He cast a glance at his allies in the corvette. Varus and Aria, his two recent allies, potentially friends. He had only met them a short time ago, and barely had gotten to know anything about them, much less train with them before this attack. He hoped that this battle wouldn't cut short their newfound alliance with each other. Accompanying them was Master Darkheart. Johma knew of him from his browsing in the archives, but had never met the man. However, he could sense the power within him and his combat prowess was legendary. Between his allies and the... "troops" from his ally Senator Vanis, he felt the Empire had likely bitten off more than it could chew this time.

He had left behind both his robes and armor, clad in only white pants held up with a black belt along with arm and foot wrappings. Both lightsabers were in his hands as he waited for his time to attack. He only gave a slight nod at what Varus had to say. He knew full well the dangers of tangling with a member of the Dark Council His right hand clenching the damaged lightsaber a little tighter as he recalled his own encounter. As they passed over the drop zone he followed Varus and Aira, lightsabers coming to life as he fell through the sky, a flurry of red and white swatting away shots from below before he landed smoothly on the ground, almost as if he had just stepped off a curb. A wave of his hand disarmed ten of the enemy troops and sent them flat on their backs to become victims of the rakghouls which had been sent with them. Johma was rather uncomfortable with their presence as he was partially responsible for their presence even being possible for this attack. It was time to see if his actions with Miranna on Taris had been worth it.

Before them stood Kiukurilya and her own people. Johma glowered at them as Varus spoke his piece. From experience, Johma didn't see much of a point. Most Sith weren't able to even wrap their minds around the idea of a peaceful resolution with those opposed to them. However in the rare chance that it might work, it could be worth a try. He looked over as Aria asked to go help the Selkath. He contemplated offering to go with her, but knew that the Sith would likely take full advantage of anyone missing from the battle. Besides, the skills he had were best used in directly stopping the attackers in their tracks.

His silver eye swept across the enemy, wondering which one he should attack. He shut down the white saber and clipped it to his belt, shifted Orred's damaged weapon to his left hand. Something in him appreciated the poetic concept of using the weapon of one of the Sith to put an end to others in their Order.

Days, a week perhaps of waiting. Concentrating. Conflicting his emotions and battering his mind in a stream of chaos. He normally would have kept himself close to his protector, Kaedyn. The man who invited him down a stray path, one that took him towards a higher purpose. He was a valid rock of support to him, perhaps the only clearing focal point within his mind. It had been such a chaos since he met with the king of onderon.

The dark councillor had taken the once slowly shifting course of Kynan’s destiny, and abruptly shoved him. Contorting his vision of what once good and evil within the world. How blindly were the jedi and the entire republic to challenge the order of things. People were not meant to rule in diplomacy and free will, no. There was a risk of self-destruction. A prime example being the gang of Hutt’s and how easily unbalanced beings could be without the proper hand to reign them in. The empire seemed far more capable of ruling the galaxy, and thus Kynan would do what he could to aid the rightful.

The once smuggler while conflicted in right and wrong, felt that the greed in the core of his soul would sway the man. He did not wish to have a proper seat among the empire, he didn’t aspire to be a sith. Not with such a mindset as cluttered it was, but he was here. To bring peace, freedom, justice and security to this section of the Empire. His hand twitching with nervous excitement, patting his pistol. There was a rock against all within the ship as another of the five found purchase on the dock of a Ahto City.

The ramp quickly decided and unfurled as more swarms of imperial troopers reinforced the assault. However while most forces had gone direction towards the front end, Kynan and a blanket of soldiers flanked around the left. Volley of blaster fire rang out as the smuggler whipped his blaster pistol out, beginning to carve a path through rakghoul’s and the native selkath. “Purge this dock, take down what creatures stand against order!” He shouted boasting a command fit for the Darth that freed him. His aim quickly shifting between rakghoul’s and republic forces that chose to stand in the way of progress.

A fair amount of moments after the Jedi delegation had entered orbit, another ship crossed into the gravitational zone of the water planet. Baelyn hated flying, but this time, she hadn't been able to procure a pilot with a handsomely equipped corvette. The Jedi fighter she piloted was of a sleek design, relying on the supernatural abilities of the pilot in order to gain a mastery over flying. While Baelyn was certainly gifted in the ways of the Force, it stood to reason if she could apply her talent in one area to another which she nothing but disdained. "Silence, X-15," she commaned her astromech droid, coming to a halt above the planet. There was nothing between her and the death of void that was known as space -- just a small sheet of metal.

From the looks of it, the improvised defense force led by Master Varus had jumped to engaging the enemy head on. That was not Baelyn's direction. "Disengage hyperdrive docking ring." Leaving the powerless ring to float circles around the planet like all the other satellites that swarmed around the aquatic planetoid, it would appear on the screens of all those scanning the orbit as nothing but a piece of metal. And were they not busy with other things? Their planet was being raided.

Bringing her fighter down, Baelyn landed the space ship upon the surface of a dark ocean, having entered the atmosphere on the other side of the planet. Her target was the capital, but her attack did not take a form as direct as that of the Sith. They were savages, after all. Nothing but animals. Before her fighter was swallowed by the sea, the ocean opened up and a landing platform appeared, shoving itself far enough into the sky to make sure the fighter landed without being washed away by the strong waves. A platform in the middle of the ocean wasn't much better than the thin metal skin of a fighter against the vastness of space, but she had been taught humbleness by the order, had she not?

The platform lowered once Baelyn had climbed out of the cockpit, but her golden gaze hadn't been allowed to stare toward the horizon for long. The water swallowed the landing pad back up, just as it had released the technology -- a thoughtfulness by the creator of the station was certainly the shield bubble that had been generated over the sky pod like a dome. Keeping the ocean at bay, Baelyn was reminded of one of the toys she had as a child - a glass sphere filled with a gravitionally charged replica of the hills of the Darubian mountains on Alderaan. The glass had kept the snow in, now the shield, acting much like the glass of her keepsake, kept the water out.

This planet was filled with life, even surrounded by the body of water, she could sense the struggle of users of the Force. It echoed, like waves of sound. One of those presences, the darkest of them all, she had felt before. But this wasn't about her personal revenge. This was about the greater good of the galaxy, so Baelyn stood in calm silence, awaiting patiently as the diving sky pod carried her into the depth of Manaan's planet-covering oceans.

"Beep. Boop."

She chuckled. "You're right. Delete the navigation protocol."

She had expected resistance, though they were sloppy. This was no home of soldiers, and they were not known for combat prowess. Even as she pushed forward with one saber drawn, easily dispatching anyone that dared get close enough, her two apprentices delightfully engaging the natives, both in their own creative ways. It was good, they were learning. But the best part of this whole thing was when the Republic decided to make an appearance. Clearly, the distress call had come sooner than she expected, and they were relatively quick at getting here, but she didn't mind. All it did was make things a little more interesting. Especially with the sudden change in weather.

Rain pelted her and wind howled around her as she came to a stop, multiple Jedi descending from a ship that had carried them, and some Rakghouls. Interesting use of foot soldiers, Sith creatures. This was no longer a simple war, but it would soon become political. What would the Selks think? The Republic using such hated beasts for their own gain? They were bred to destroy, not protect. When the Jedi spoke, all Kiu could do was crack a smile, and stifle a laugh. "It seems my name is known throughout the Republic! I can't say the same for you, little Jedi." She cared little for the back and forth insults. Words did not win wars."You seem to misunderstand, though. I never intended to sway the Selkath to the Empire. I seek to enslave them, so I'm afraid I won't be able to simply walk away from this one." Not that she would have, anyway.

She eyed the big one that spoke now, nodding in agreement. Still, she was outnumbered, four Jedi to her. Though one seemed a little less skilled, and apprehensive. She could feel unease within. A Padawan, perhaps. Reaching out to the minds of her Apprentices, she spoke. "Korshaa, you will engage the girl, show her the power of the dark side. Zendria, take the white haired one. Leave the others to me. And bring me their lightsabers. The time for talk was over.

Snapping on her other lightsaber, she acknowledged the big one. "I agree with the big one. Let us see who walks away alive." She shoved her right hand towards the larger of the two, using a force blast to knock him away before rushing towards Varus, sabers swinging with both precision, and savagery. She would test these Jedi, see just how strong they truly were.

Korshaa Vashran stood on top of a roof, watching as reinforcements started reigning down from space. She was a bit confused because she didn't think that the Republic would respond so soon, and in so many numbers. Did they get word of what the Empire was going to do? If so, who told them? Apparently, there was a traitor among the Empire. Korshaa would make sure her Master fixed that problem later. However, now they had more pressing matters to worry about, as enemy troops and unknown monsters alike fell down from space crafts, attacking the imperial troops. Rain started pouring forth, along with small tremors that made the locals of this planet even more scared than relieved. What Korshaa focused on the most, though, were the monsters. They seemed almost animalistic in nature. Thankfully, the rain was so heavy that the beasts could not smell, forcing them to move solely on sight. However, they were still a force to be reckon with as they took down some of the imperial men and ate them. The troopers fought back, firing gatling lasers at the monsters and mowing them down. Some of them were charged with taking down the helicarriers, and fired heat seeking missiles at them to shoot them out of the sky. A few missiles hit one ship that carried what Korshaa assumed to be Republic troops, and they went crashed into the ground, destroying a small section and possibly killing every Selkath in that area.Korshaa marveled at the destruction, but not for long. She had heard someone call her master's names from off in the distance. She hopped over a few buildings until she was at the side of the conflict. There, she stared down from the high ground and witnessed as a group of imperial troops stood off against republic troops, with Jedi and sith in the middle. She thought about going to her master's side, but figured it might be better to keep the element of surprise. In her head, she heard her master call to her. Engage the girl, Darth Kiu said, and Korshaa scrunched her nose in disapproval. Did she really have to take on such a small pup? Dealing with the lightweights were far beneath her. She'd rather handle that wolf looking man. Now that would probably be an ultimate battle. With a heavy sigh, Korshaa cloaked herself invisible. If she was gonna fight the small fry, she may as well have some fun. She stealth'd her way behind the republic troopers and snagged a few thermal grenades from their inventory. Activating a few, she tossed them on the light corvette the Jedi had come from and jumped away as far as she could. The grenades exploded large enough to set the entire corvette on fire, and every trooper that was close to it went down immediately. To the troops that did manage to survive, Korshaa came in and stabbed them with her saber until they were completely dead. Now only a few republic troopers remained around this area to aid the Jedi. That and their damned Rakghouls. The playing field was still even, but the Empire would overrun them over time. All Korshaa and the rest needed to do was hold them off. This is what Korshaa loved about war! The constant thinking, the countless lives lost, and the splattering blood and destruction all around made her feel at home. There was nothing better than smelling blaster smoke, dead bodies and complete fear in the air. This was what Korshaa was born for, and this was what Korshaa would die doing!"Little Pup!" Korshaa shouted out from behind the Jedi. After killing three more Republic soldiers, she walked directly towards them, like a true and prideful huntress, but her dark yellow eyes were pointed directly at only one Jedi. The girl, that's who she was ordered to kill. She would be sure that the suckling pup felt pain like never before. "What's a little girl like you doing on a battlefield?" she taunted the Padawan. "Children deserve to be in daycare. This is war, not a playground."She activated her tonfa blades, listening to the sound as her yellow sabers slashed through the air. She had heard them several times today, and yet each time felt just as satisfying as the last, if not more. When her Master moved forward, initiating combat, Korshaa did the same. She ran as low as she possibly could, her sabers following beautifully behind her. When she reached the girl, Korshaa would start with a simple attack. She would aim low with one of her blades in an attempt to chop off the girl's legs. Whether that worked or not was solely up to the girl's reaction time.

I smell a RAT! They responded too quickly..

While the thought of someone cluing the republic into what was taking place this was an issue, it was not one she could waste her valuable time contemplating. With the appearance of those wretched Jedi, they had brought grotesque creatures with them. The Rakghoul would pose problems for sure, due to their ability to infect and spread their disease. The Imperial soldiers might be able to hols their own temporarily, but if someone didn't do something, they would be overrun them given the time. Fortunately, Masemi had already been heading toward her first intended target, which could potentially remove the Rakghoul threat. Her form continued to rush through the chaos as the Rakghoul's clashed with Imperial forces.

Her stealth technology fluttered as Cipher One moved, her obscured form distorting the air as ahe continued on her path, remainly largely unconfrontational as she pressed forward. Any Rakghoul she passed wouldn't know what hit them as her faithful 'Rending Needle' flicking out in her right hand, driving the vibro-focused point of the rapier from face to spinal-chord like a blade through paper. The occasional visual disrupting could be seen spinning, sweeping left and right, around Imperials locked in combat along her path to assist in thinning the Rakghoul numbers. In mere moments she would have covered a vast distance toward her intended target, The Manaan Security hold.

On her approach toward the large sliding security door, Masemi Luxi had deactivated and sheathed her vibro-rapier as she leapt to clear the last ten yards or so, throwing her gloved hands out in front of her with fingers spread wide and palms extended. An aggressive growl escaped the masked female zabrak's mouth as she connected with the security door. While the Imitation Crushgaunt gloves weren't as durable as the original mandalorian design, they still managed to enhance her strength in the same manner. The small framed woman's hands collided with the metal material with enough force that the door bowed inward with groans of metal screaming out in symphony with the rest of the chaos. Her arms pulled back a second time, thrusting forward against the same spot and curling the door even more as it tore away from the entrance.

It would reveal a hallway, a few native Selkath that had been huddled in fear in hopes they were safe, only to be crushed by the metal door that had broken away. A sneer hidden behind Masemi's holocron mask, was present as she once again took to moving. Muscle memory would guide her left hand to the container hanging at her hip, the cover snapping open as a small base-ball sizes metal 'ball' fell into her hand. Left arm reeled back briefly before she tossed it down the length of the hall. Before the 'ball' hit the ground it fluttered to life, 'whirring' as it flew upwards and moved to the electronic controls of the main computer room door.

"Hd-1337, Activate infiltration decryption! Get that damn door OPEN!"

Bips, boops and whirring noises signaled a response in Masemi's head as her hacker droid went to work. And by the time she had cleared the hallway and approached it the second security door slid open. She was met by blaster fire, turning quickly as the bolts of energy connected with her back-side. The Cortosis material that made up her suit would deflect the blaster bolts back and up, smashing lights as 'HD-1337' zipped around. Rolling toward the left and jumping toward the right, Cipher One would dodge the droid fire from inside, moving closer with each maneuver. The few Selkath security workers present seemed distraught as it was, seemingly unable to do much amidst this invasion. Little 'arms' extended from 'HD-1337' detaching the panels at the back of the droid firing upon her, more binary communication sounded in her head and in moments the droid firing would halt, turning upon it's Selkath 'masters' before letting loose more blaster bolts.

"That's it, HD- Reprogram Manaan's defenses to recognize Imperial units and defend them against the Rakghouls and Republic scum! Have the defensive cannons target those Republican ships! Work quickly, little guy.. Time is of the essence!"

The hubbub had died down within this location for the moment, the droid that had been hacked would turn and position itself toward the open security door, moving in front of the console as 'HD-1337' began it's infiltration into Manaan's security systems. Cipher One moved off toward the right side of the room, before pulling her 'Rending Needle' once again, her 'Snake Coil' whip wielded in her left hand as her form began to fade into obscurity once again, hiding in wait for any potential attempt to stop her in her tracks. 'HD-1337' was state-of-the-art in terms of infiltration technology. It wouldn't take long before every security and defensive apparatus of Manaan resided under Imperial control.

Rakghouls alone would have kept the imperial soldiers at bay long enough that Varus wouldn't need to worry about them interfering with the fight. This allowed him to be more focused, and with that focus he would easily be made aware of the togruta apprentice and her antics. Her Force signature would be known to him, allowing him to track her as she made her movements, and while the naked eye would not easily perceive her theft and sabotage, it was more than simple for such a trained master of the Force. The moment she tossed the thermal detonators, he would pull them back from within the ship and send them skyward; they would harm only the sky, and no Republic or Imperial troops. The master's sabers continued to dance around him in a manner that would prevent anyone from getting too close unless he willed it, so he simply crossed his arms over his chest and smirked tauntingly at the woman evidently leading the attack.

"How boring," Varus started as the fight kicked off immediately. Regardless of how Kiukurilya struck Drago, she would find her path to Varus blocked off as one of his double-bladed lightsabers began to whirl around her, striking with finesse through the Force. He held out a single palm in the event that she neared, ready to simply push her back. Varus would not allow her to play to her own strengths, instead he'd force her to play to his own. "Sorry to ruin the surprise, darling, but it'll be me."

Splitting his focus too much would prove difficult, but the togruta made her assault on Aria clear as day. Because of this, he would send his second lightsaber to intercept the initial strike from Korshaa, parrying the blow from afar so Aria would have ample time to react. While it would not be said, Aria's empathy would allow her to know Varus did not want her leaving his side under any circumstance.

Varus only hoped his comrades would move into action swiftly, as he could only do so much even as a seasoned veteran. So for now, he kept things simple: blades danced with the Force to keep his main enemy back, meanwhile the winds only began to grow and storm clouds quickly ushered in overhead.

"It's not too late to go home, you know."

love, libby

Aria wasn’t focused on the useless banter flying between Master Varus, Master Drago, and Kiukurilya. Though Aria was in fact take by surprise by the sound of a woman shouting behind her. With a quick glance behind her she noticed a Togruta woman with two deactivated lightsabers of some kind in her hands. They weren’t standard issue and reminded her of Master Drago’s custom weapon and how it suited his fighting style perfectly. This made her wary of this woman who clearly had a less than cordial tone.

Their eyes made contact and Aria instantly knew that the woman saw her as nothing more as prey. The Padawan turned fully to face the woman and had a determined look of defiance in her eyes. She wouldn’t simply roll over and wait to be killed by some blood thirsty Sith. Words would do her little good so she simply allowed this woman to spout her nonsense and think that her taunts held any sway over Aria’s composure. Aria took a defensive stance shifting away from the starting form required for her Blade Dance.

Suddenly the Sith woman ignited her lightsabers to reveal that the were custom made to resemble tonfas. Their extreme lack of range implied that this woman was an extremely close range fighter. This could be problematic for Aria but she refused to doubt herself. She was stronger than she ever was before and had even developed a slew of new Force abilities since strengthening her connection to the Force. While these abilities were fairly common among all Force users there was one she had accidentally developed that wasn’t common in a Jedi’s arsenal. Her new ability, Force Slow. Aria planned on using it for her first time in the field with this woman, now all she had to do was decide when would be the perfect time to do so.

As Aria sensed Kiukurilya launch an attack of some kind so did the Sith woman in front of her. Though Aria saw it coming she also noticed a familiar sight from the corner of her vision as her Master’s blade flew right in front of her parrying the woman’s blow with precision only her Master could by tossing his weapon. Aria took advantage of this to launch a counter attack as she decided to leap over the woman and aim both her sabers for the woman's upper right arm. Aria never aimed for fatal blows unless necessary and always aimed to debilitate her foes if possible. Whether her attack was successful or not she would land where the Sith woman originally stood before her attack, effectively switching their respective positions.

Aria could sense her Master’s displeasure at moving away from his side during battle but she wasn’t very good at standing her ground in combat. Though she would try not to stray too far during her combat with this Sith. The Padawan simply waited with barely contained energy as she focused all her attention on her opponent. Aria would focus on defense in hopes of aggravating her opponent and causing her to lower her guard. All Aria would need is one crucial moment to try her new ability and see how effective it would be. The young woman decided to shoot her opponent a smile as if they were merely having a friendly sparring match and she was telling her it was her move again. Sith seemed to hate friendly smiles.
